This post gave me flashbacks...remember HOT or NOT??

I was overwhelmingly amazed by how sweet the boutique owners and employees were, each one genuinely interested in helping and sincere in their compliments unlike LA where you're lucky to get a hello. I get so frustrated with LA owners who move here, open a boutique and think they've made it. I made my way over to Fremont and bought an Acne dress from Impulse - a store that was even more magical than I had imagined. Well worth the 30 minutes waiting for a taxi back to downtown (ugh).
I also brought home a Chloe bag...yeeaah, and have already lost it's leather duffel tag.
Typical me typical me typical me...

Thinking Paris looks prettier crying than smiling, is that not strange? This photograph is fabulous. Those reflection lines.
I'm all laughs over The Superficial's commentary on her return to jailjail.

Fold Your Hands Child
It's times like these I'm not as bitter LA has no TopShop or Uniqlo (although lordy would I love some cheap Phillip Lim).Erin Fetherston for Target

Knee Deep
Also coming to us from the illustrator below (dans Paris), captured knee highs not too old-lady not too school-girl. Just classic and nice.

The Day's Refrain
Oh those days of college Away Messages. Song quotes, secret hints to others, the delusion that other people need to know when you're at the cafeteria "flexing out", now I resort to living though my reps:IROCg - "I'm about 25% away from being a GUERILLA!!!!! Prime Cuts
Alexandre Herchcovitch is one of my very fav designers and these silk and beaded necklaces have me lusting even more now that they're on sale for about 200 buckaroos at Creatures of Comfort. So easy, so cool.

She Dares All Things
I must admit there's a certain hot factor to sheer and it looks great on runway, but can it be worn on the street exactly as pictured below confidently rather than provocative-awkward?

Lone Path, Wind's Path
I stumbled across Kenshu Shintsubo's ad photography flipping through an old Japanese mag and made an instant connection. I'm so moved by the ability to capture detachment from the pace of the world.Kenshu Shintsubo

Fake Plastic Trees
I want to grow a forest! The irony of cutting down trees, covering them with laminex and acrylic and shaping them into trees again. I really like them and their commentary on the pieces just seals the deal.Flatland & Flagship

Fuuuuuun
When graphic t-shirts, leggings, cropped pants, and shiny jumpers are thrown together I tend to cringe a la substance-lacking urbanoutfittersamericanapparelcladhipstersoncobrasnake. However, this aussie label's fall looks are incredibly fun and do the wrongs so damn right! There's simply no ignoring the design-brilliance of those trousers.Shakuhachi

Burst and Bloom
It's been some time since I ran around during summer in a pair of truly short jean shorts. Truth be told the last pair that come to mind were skin-tight, pocketless and tied up via four shoestring loops in the front...back when pocketless l.e.i's were the rage ((oh the shame))Much needed relief from boring (and sometimes frightening) little light jean shorts world:

Bonkers for this huge Skypager canvas, currently hanging in the Rendition show at the LA Scion Gallery (curated by the one and only EYEONE who never ceases to blow my mind).SKYPAGE

Love Like Winter
Frilly footwear, especially in satin, suede and black are so summer inappropriate they're appropriate again. A la the few black flats I posted earlier - they fit right in with the fun, playful aspect of summer and are such a great contrast for simple roomy dresses and tees. I can't rid the thought of frolicking around in a silly pair with something special on the toes. These pairs come to save us from bows and flowers...Eileen Shields

City Calm Down
Loved Seatte and it's clean, empty, cloudy streets.

Save My Skin
I love the way Lisa Alisa captures girls. A still calmness really shows through. Her sparrows are also quite cute. I'm thinking of art for my walls in my new (future) apartment and I'd love to have some of her work.Lisa Alisa

Sample sales make me happy, but what makes me happier? Good flyer design. This is all it takes.

In Harmony In Silver
There's a extra special place in my heart for Frank Gehry's silver and I'd love to get a piece for thee finger. Don't get me started on the bitterness associated with not being able to find his silver litho cards for sale anymore after using the last of my set for thank you letters for a job I did not get. I think these could fill the empty space. Who am I kidding...I would pee in thee pants.Frank Gehry for Tiffany & Co.
