At The Playground

Alvin Valley's Fall 07 line is up and those trousers are just as brilliant as I remember them! I am loving rolled pleated pairs for fall (despite the fact that my boyfriend thinks they look like 'a mom taking little pookie to the park'...hmph.) I recently acquired a pair in a shade of dark yelloworangebrownisssh (another fall addiction soon to be confessed) so bring on the sand.

The Crispin and Basilio Fall 2007 line isn't officially up but that didn't stop me from trying some web address trickery. Usually I fail miserably but this time, sweet success. Here are some new pieces I think I may want even more than those I saw at their LA Fashion Week show. AND if I'm not mistaken the model is the girl I was gushing about - I love her!

Back In Our Town

Balti-less, Un-Mary-land!
Poor service, rude people hollering from their cars, supermarkets that don't carry alcohol (what?!), no restaurants open late, extreme humidity: that's what I spent the past 5 days (not) enjoying. I've never been to a city I truly hated, what a shame!
I have a renewed love for LA.

Lost, Dropped and Cancelled

While pulling the drawers out of my vintage wooden chest (one of my already favorite possessions) I was startled to find these treasures from the 60s and 70s. Yellowed paper, old spiral notebook covers, drafts of letters and other pieces of time from various previous owners who all lost them in the back of the chest.
All the pieces were so personal, it was a peek into other lives. I couldn't help but imagine the woman sitting at the chest tossing out draft after draft she left behind of "I regret to have to resign from my position as xerox operator..."
