I don't find much to celebrate christmas time but this video and chinatown cake are enough to be excited about today.

Woodland Hunter

I'm close to getting wooden hangers for my closet.
I am design-geeking out on these.

What an easy game to play...

With limited budgets and crazy gas prices...
- Spend money on alcohol and fabulously fun times?
- Or on aesthetically overwhelming pieces that send one into la la land?
Real deep for a rainy Tuesday night.

PS - I want to start a magazine and convince minirobot and diane and naitze to write - their way with words melts my face off and is forever an inspiration.

Bloodheat

I definitely fell for this checkered travel case. It's jcrew on sale now and reminds me of the Phillip Lim Fall bags, a little more burly, but cuter (because it's smaller of course).
Overall, pretty charming.

It's quite possible...

Realizing one day too late I missed the Melrose holiday walk I've been waiting for all year: horrible
Peter Jensen tweed high tops, real snow at Anzevino and Florence, garlic fries with jrj: magical

The sun is out, it melts the snow that fell yesterday...

"But it's like we weren't made for this world
Though I wouldn't really want to meet someone who was."

The Past Is A Grotesque Animal - Of Montreal

Download here.

The world is so so so so weird and things always happen in patterns and in a certain way, rhythmic.
Let's tear this shit apart.

I'll carry this piece of you with me...

I wonder what kind of imprint this puppy would leave on a catty girl's cheekbone?

But since the three girls that I'd love to try it out on are catty enough to file charges, I'll think about how happily it would sit on my finger.

Speaking of bitches - I realized the spam software was still causing problems but it is now, finally, 100% fixed. Huff, puff.

Throwin' Shapes

Kozem's work definitely speaks for itself. Amazing technique, incredibly unpretentious.
Panda suits and skeletons throwing westside? Can do no wrong.

Retreat!

Spam is such a headache. With utter hate for captchas, I've spent the past year scrolling through thousands of comments trying to rid my site of the robot stuff. Since apparently my most recent attempt at prevention worked a little too well (blocking out even the fantastic minirobot), I've installed a new diddy that prompts you to answer a simple math question at the bottom of each comment.

So it is a captcha of sorts, but math is cute. And easier than those darn letters. Hope it's not too much trouble!

Heavy Hearts

You know those lines that just feel better than others?
Not soft...but substantially thick, heavy pieces in amazing fabrics?
Nuj Novakhett is definitely one of those lines.

Their Spring/Summer 08 collection isn't too bad on the eyes either.

Swingset

Isn't tiered fabric fantastic? My obsession of the moment. I'm so happy to see it popping up in several collections.

I'd Rather be Wine Drunk

Lucky me! I was able to catch new works from two of my favorites this Saturday here in LA, Lisa Alisa (at project:gallery) and Denise Simon (at Carmichael).

Lisa's right-most of the three melted my face off.

The tiny sketch of a pair of flats from Denise was way aww-ish.
