This looks so perfect.

Traffic Russia

Rolling racks, hangers. Empty space. Siiiigh. (Marked Showroom)
+ I couldn't resist picking up this yesterday for romping around the messy abode. Adorableness.

Keep Me

Back from NY, where I took a train over to Boston and passed through cities I had never seen before. I took a liking to New London from a distance...and wondered how things might be different if I escaped off to a seaport town. It might have just been the sleep deprivation.
Back to LA.
The thing I hate about leaving town is there's always misses of grand kinds - concerts from dear dear bands, and this time the closing sale for Danmark. So many great brands not available otherwise like the treasured Stine Goya.
Speaking of Stine Goya, I love their current entry animation: stinegoya.com
Makes me want to go dancing and forget what city I'm in at all.
Which is exactly what I intend to do tonight.

Need todos, but I'm partial to the dark side.
Off to NY for a week and will be still dreaming of the top pair on the opposite coast.
I desperately want the hoods!

The Dears email this time around felt tragic but thankfully not as tragic as them breaking up - just tragic in everyone leaving the band minus 2. And really how can you go into Meltdown in A Major feeling anything but? And in a exact opposite but equally brilliant manner, within seconds of Of Montreal's Id Engager I just had to laugh a deep deep 'oh my lord' laugh. One of shock but not at all surprise. I am a little frightened of what's to come on that album be quite honest!
(har har)

Manuel Ferreiro

The first song they pounded out in their recent Chinatown show definitely hit me in the rare invincible-evoking manner (insert Explosions in the Sky, Minus the Bear).
And a mention of best-lives is not complete without a yay for Broken Social Scene at Sunset Junction this month.
So nice.

- John Mayer on reading gossip about oneself
I am always so incredibly amused by his deeeep and defensive rambles!

I bought this Ranking Podium last night at the Giant Robot curated Scion opening from Zarigani Works. Because it made me genuinely laugh for a really long time! (granted I had just chugged down two glasses of corporate wine).
It seemed so fitting, and come to think of it I was ranking my favorite designers just yesterday before the show. (1, 2, 3) - and I didn't really get to a 4 and 5 I originally thought were required in a ranking go. Now it is okay.
I thought it was some hipster trying to be ironic but it was a pretty cool dude from Japan who was standing around his display and pitched his product to my friend. He gave me an eraser.
Also, I think these tattoos my intern Jackson has are rather neat.
Keep It Like a Secret

All The Towns Near Boston

Sleeping with a Gun Under My Pillow
Hengst collections are always one of my favorite so I was excited to see fall is up. They really know how to shoot their pieces, the material looks so lush.I desperately want the hoods!

Wolf Like Me
In the middle of hunger pains, I stumbled across Brooklyn-based Spring's "What we made for lunch" - simple sandwiches, cherry tomato salads and pasta, looks so yummy they should start serving it out of their gallery!

I know you're on to something...
It's a good week for music, with newness soon from dear dear The Dears and Of Montreal. The Dears email this time around felt tragic but thankfully not as tragic as them breaking up - just tragic in everyone leaving the band minus 2. Intricate Machines
I tend to roll the eyes at the 'buzzing LA music scene' (insert Darker My Love, Mika Miko) but recently discovered Intricate Machines may have something truly good to offer and just happens to be from LA. Not to mention, one degree of separation (thanks Diane!).
The first song they pounded out in their recent Chinatown show definitely hit me in the rare invincible-evoking manner (insert Explosions in the Sky, Minus the Bear).

Photos of waiting
It seems as though this feeling isn't typically captured. Standing around, looking down, when usually it's neck high into a million cameras. So nice.

QOTD
"...you'd better understand that all you're doing is hanging out in one wing of the psych ward. You go, "People really are crazy?" No-visit a different floor. Go hang out in the waiting room for a minute and talk to some normal people..."- John Mayer on reading gossip about oneself
