Endlessly

Recent favourite from eyeone, where the method of adding household liquids and textures so naturally enhances the graphic. As if it'd been a part of the original photograph or at the least the way it felt.

++ bunch of new work on his site.

Girl From School

First time in 5 years I've wanted to go back to USC.

The Lab, new gastropub 'round the old stomping grounds. Alllll cutesy. Now I'm just angry.

Where The Wild Roses Grow

Australian Shakuhachi has been a long-time, far-away favourite but I finally got to see the line in person and it's sooo well executed. The fabrics, cuts and washes are fantastic this season. Nearly fell for the first dress below in an acid wash but it screamed for the figure of a small boy so I had to wave goodbye.

I'm also still pretty geeked out on these from 07...

Shipwreck

Hunting for a ring. I lose the things like crazy and have been dressing especially just-woke-up lately so it needs to be piled on and overstated.

Whitley Kros Fall 2009 Presentation

Picked up Sophia Minis, a baby Chambord and headed to Miauhaus for Whitley Kros. Good pants, good Polaroids. Then with partners in crime, wandered to the back offices to goof off with kelly green roll-down gates, close up prints of puppies and full length washroom mirrors (anything for a good backdrop).

The Battalion Fall 2009

LA Fashion Week contineees. This weekend despite the door drama we got a peak at The Battalion's new things. The first item I ever bought from Creatures of Comfort in its opening month years ago was a Battalion button-studded tank so you could say there's a special place in my heart for the line. The red-black coats and vests really caught my attention. Particularly, when blondie below walked out and I cursed a bit under my breath from upsettingly-cool-overload.

I'm currently shooting on drugstore disposable on the looong road to lumix release. But there's a special comfort that comes with holding a camera up to cheek and that charming paper casing. That, I cannot deny.

Last Summertime's Obsession

The tough part about print is it's so darn final.
Should I have found this photo while I was working on Issue One, I would have loved to include it!

Ready For The Floor

I'm thinking about picking up this to-be-released Lumix.

I've broken the lens on my Ricoh twice in under a year of owning it and it's just too much heart(and wallet)ache.
This silver body can't compete with the Ricoh's soft black charm, never, but: waterproof to 10 feet, airtight aka dustproof, shockproof to drops of 5 feet with a 12.1 megapixel wide-angle LEICA lens and 4.6x optical zoom -- sounds oh so practical and ready for messes, alcohol-infused photo shoots, bike-romps and full force throws into a big unorganized handbag. NEEDITNOW.
One day I'll fix the Ricoh. And take pictures of trees or something nice like that.

A Catalyst

New haunts.

ghostpower, linking great photographs with great songs. simple enough, but beautifully executed to feel super sincere. Rather addicting.

decade diary, a mixture of amazing sketches, polaroids from phillip lim shows, and in general all things pretty.

Style Icon

I am always wearing this one super faded, shrunken blue zip hoodie. Today my coworker called me out on it, and asked where I left my bike and extraterrestrial friend.
I will probably wear it more (if that's possible) now.

ps - how cute is this creature / the pic composition!

GenArt LA Fashion Week Kick Off

Three truly great shows. Society for Rational Dress showed a couple chain draped armor-vests that were a standout and I thoroughly enjoyed the double drummers getting down stage side. Raquel Allegra's shredding was outstanding - pieces I would own in a heartbeat.
Met ups with Geri and bumped into Sam for the first time (insta-crush), made new friends with a belt designer and a bikini designer and very large chunks of wax.

Chloe, Limi Feu, Wunderkind Fall 2009

My favorite thing at the Chloé show was probably her. Sweats with those shoes, rad. And around in other collections, pieces to feed my growing fascination for drapey coats you can blanket over everything.

Chanel Fall 2009

The head to toe sketch-suits won me over in this collection, and obvs, the accessories.
I've been looking for a backpack as well as leather gloves for bicycle rides and thank Chanel for perfecting both, pulling my heart toward complete impracticality.

++ speaking of accessories, Vanessa Bruno's hats are one of my favorite things.

Dries Van Noten, Sonia Rykiel

I LOVE DRIES. THE COLORS AT DRIES AND SONIA RYKIEL -- !!
The shoes were also a high point along with the way that pushed-up-sleeves sweater pairs with the fluff on the long skirt.

Gareth Pugh, Rue du Mail Fall 2009 - Paris Fashion Week

Thank You

Stock up.
There's this brilliant, cheap t-shirt at Target right now. Good shape, length and fabric is decent.

It's the Short Sleeve Boxy Tee ($14.99) best in Black and Heather Gray.
PS - I really wish they would fire their photographer/stylist. Even after editing this one doesn't do the item justice. So much baddd going on there to good pieces.

Marni, Pringle of Scotland Fall 2009

The charcoal dress from Pringle is so classic, so understated-perfect. After grunging 6 days out of a week this would hit the spot. Marni is all gasps. Those hues are my weakness. Rest assured I'll be heading over to Melrose Place come fall for those damn tights.
