WHITE PANTHER GIRLFRIEND By Jamie Campbell

Jamie Campbell has printed a book, limited to 20 copies! Highly recommend. His work printed has an amazing amount of detail and clarity - untouchable! Every time I flip through Issue One his stuff really stands out.

It features new and old images, both black and white and colour. snapshots, polaroids and images from series. 35mm, 2 1/4. grainy, sharp, cute and ugly. cropped, paired and ready to own.

He also writes funniest blogs around, if I haven't mentioned it before.

Midseptemberfindmehere

The next round of Pierre Hardy for GAP avail mid-September. WHAT. I will mad-dash for either of these, and maybe these too in another shade (noted all will be come in either navy blue, beige, khaki and gray). Extra pts that the boots give me an Isabel Marant vibe at the same time.

School of Rebellious Sweethearts

I fell in love with this Sretsis dress yesterday while doing some serious vegetarian-pouting as a pack of giftbag-toting girls at the LIVE! on Sunset event gnawed chicken wings (the smell alone was enough to prompt serious reconsiderations. Why don't I eat meat again? Oh right, my genetically abnormal cholesterol levels. Thanks Mom and Dad!). It's so charming in person. Zoeey and this dress could go head to head in charm-battle and my vote would probably go here. I wawawant.

I've had this photo on my hard drive for so long. So long I can't even recall the source, oops!

Compare and Contrast

sosupersam sent me this for breakfast in the morning, hit the spot! French Vogue. Fully geeking-out and tempted to go pick up the issue for a real flip-through. Favs from the 64 line-defining looks below. Find yours here and lets trade notes?

The Stella pg is def playing to win with those damn thigh-high boots.

Exhausted

Thinking that I need some sleep and thinking that these boots below from Keller may be such a good summer boot. PS - their Fall 09 collection is shot by Issue One contributor Matt Sundin eeeeeee.

Epic

I had the verbal revelation that the one word sums up quite accurately what I love. Applies to music 100% (think My Bloody Valentine, Sebastien Tellier) and photography definitely as when I stumbled on this thumbnail the instant word that came to my head was exactly that. Upon clicking I realized that it was the literal title of the shot. How appropriate!

Giant Robot

Issue One is featured in the August issue of Giant Robot Magazine!
"This photo zine features mostly cute girls, mostly photographed by girls (including friend of GR Ye Rin Mok). The work is from all over the globe, suggesting that the capturing of young females in a lonely, moody style is universal. Think Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation, hanging out alone. Pillow fight anyone? Nope, these girls are alone."
Oh I love that last bit with all my heart.

30 Days

In a month I'll be homeless! I'm just going to STOP paying rent. This doesn't look all too bad, does it?

I always think back to miya's post from last year when I consider lifestyle changes and an all-out-lust for minimalism. For a life that doesn't revolve around a headache-inducing excel sheet budget, LA-rent, a closet that is never ever clean and skimping at the end of the month. The glamour of a solitary suitcase of necessary objects.
Rest assured this fascination will fade quite quickly, I'm quite confident in that, as like miya 'I can’t help but love beautiful things.' But for now it's time to get out there and scuff the knees a bit.

PS - i haven't completely lost it. Will be away several weeks in August and September in NY, Paris, Chicago so it's an arguably logical decision. Right? Right? Although once back, all is fair game.

Interconnection grows from the manure of human troubles

Sometimes we're at our best when we're at our worst.

Thanks David O. Russell and Tim Kasher for reminding me of these things. Let's go.

02

Just got Lina Scheynius' Book 02 in the mail. Like much of her work, the pages are hauntingly dark and indistinguishable at times yet shockingly personal. There's something sentimental in that stark white cover, too.

I emailed Lina before placing about upping the quantity on the order from from 1 to 2 copies and she replied back that she didn't have the time to figure out the shipping cost on 2 copies with no suggested solution. What else can you do but laugh a bit? There's something amazing about that. It's either extremely opportunity cost-aware or punk rock, both of which I'm a fan of.

Boy Destroyers

My favorite part about these slashed jeans from stolen girlfriends club isn't the slashes at all, it's the patch.

Wren Holiday 09

Wren sent me over some new outtakes from their look book shoot w/Alexa Chung, funs! Such a fantastic line.

I wonder what holiday-time will bring. Seems sooo far away, what with all the summer adventure plotting and 4th of july upon us. Give me one more month and I will be begging for tights and sweaters, as always.
