My mom has this incredibly unique power and voice. One that I've always known I could not live without. As many mothers do, a supremely unconditional love and understanding. Her specialty: an ability to transmit this into words so gracefully through the most gentle spirit I have come across in my lifetime.

When I feel my hope fall to the darkest of depths and as though nothing is there, she is there. With the perfect set of concise words to light the path ahead.

When I'm starting wars, to remind me that what I really want is peace.

An unfortunate time has come where now more than ever before I need to record them for future reference. Starting now. This blog has always been not so much a place for others (sorry, honestly) but a place for me. A place to collect images, objects and thoughts that move me to such extent I cannot bare to be without them. A ten year virtual safe box, three years under the ALL THINGS ORDINARY name. Searchable for the years ahead when I'll undoubtedly need her.

2009 - UNFORGETTABLE.

While most years past may blur with the passing of time, 2009 will linger for the true ass kicking it served to all. Couldn't be happier to welcome in 2010. weeeeee!

Daul Kim

My heart is heavy.

Daul Kim was one of a kind. Her blog was a constant inspiration and happy space. Her choppy prose, intense animal love and unique photography. So young. So sad. She will be missed.

30 Days

In a month I'll be homeless! I'm just going to STOP paying rent. This doesn't look all too bad, does it?

I always think back to miya's post from last year when I consider lifestyle changes and an all-out-lust for minimalism. For a life that doesn't revolve around a headache-inducing excel sheet budget, LA-rent, a closet that is never ever clean and skimping at the end of the month. The glamour of a solitary suitcase of necessary objects.
Rest assured this fascination will fade quite quickly, I'm quite confident in that, as like miya 'I can’t help but love beautiful things.' But for now it's time to get out there and scuff the knees a bit.

PS - i haven't completely lost it. Will be away several weeks in August and September in NY, Paris, Chicago so it's an arguably logical decision. Right? Right? Although once back, all is fair game.

I think that we should run as fast as we can into what we don't know

Don't let yourself become of victim of actualizing your worst fears.
Accept the sadness of human existence and let go because you want to have fun. Truly understand and accept.
Know yourself.
Have confidence in what you are.
Fight for what you want.
Smash shit.
Throw glasses off the table.
